There is a diehard need for cybersecurity skills in this era of
globalization and fifth-generation warfare. In this 21st century, everything has gone online. Every industry has a huge amount of important
data stored in the cloud. From huge companies to ordinary individual, everyone
has its important data online. So this data needs to be secured. And this
security is called cybersecurity.
Recently US accused Russia of cyber-attack on COVID-19 research
data. They accused that Russia has stolen that data. And if it is right and as
we all know that Russia has successfully tested covid-19 vaccine and they even
started vaccination, then the considerable point over here is the importance of
cybersecurity.
When I consider myself as an ordinary citizen who has his date on
social media sites and I believe on those sites to make my data private, but
what if some illegally hacks that site and gets access to my data. My data can
be used to hack my credit card or any other purpose that will surely be against
my interest.
So here digital literacy or cybersecurity skills are very
important, stats show that the majority of accounts hack just because the real owner
didn’t put two-factor authentication on his account. So here as an ordinary man
who has nothing to do with computer education must know at least related to
these small tools which can make me secure. That’s how important are the cybersecurity skills for me.
But when we see at the broader picture, the main tool of fifth-generation warfare is media and internet, so here the importance of cybersecurity increases a hundred times. Next-generation is the generation of computer
and technology and in order to survive in competition, we need to develop cybersecurity skills as much as we can.
